Dear Governor Haley,

Please speak out against animal cruelty and do more to strengthen state laws and penalties against cruelty to animals. Recently, a horrendous case of cruelty came out of South Carolina where a four month old boxer puppy was shot in the head, spray painted, and dragged behind a car. Because he was surrendered as a "stray" to a state shelter after suffering for days, no criminal investigation will take place. That is an absurd and embarrassing situation. Please do the right thing by doing more to strengthen laws and increase punishments against animal abusers. It is part of living in a civilized society.
