They verified they had received it and scanned it into the system. However, I had one more question, which was if Worker's Compensation still did NOT count as income, because last year when I lost my job due to an on the job injury I filed for Medicaid and was told that Worker's Comp wasn't counted so I qualified due to having zero income. However, the lady at the local office said the rules change all the time and that was why she was initially unsure whether or not Worker's Comp counted. This is why I wanted to verify it today. Anyway, the lady on the phone today told me that it does count and when I asked for her to send proof she kept referring me to the website, and I told her repeatedly that I had looked through the Medicaid website and couldn't find anything about Worker's Comp. Eventually she put a supervisor on the phone that was just as unhelpful as the first lady and who also refused my repeated request to send me proof. I find that this is very unhelpful, very unfriendly, and pretty abhorrent behavior in that neither person would send me proof that Worker's Comp is counted as income. This complaint is for their lack of assistance and as a government agency this type of behavior is appalling. Both employees completely refused to provide the assistance I needed. Because of this, I did expand my search efforts to try and track down anything about Worker's Comp benefits being counted or not counted as income. So, in the Medicaid Policy and Procedures Manual, Chapter 203, page 23, it clearly states that Worker's Comp IS NOT counted as income. The problem now is that if these employees don't know that it does not count as clearly indicated by them telling me it does count and has always counted from the beginning of time, I'm afraid my renewal paperwork where I listed my weekly check amounts will be wrongfully entered as income and I'll be denied benefits, which will make me go through an appeals process that I shouldn't have to go through if only employees were properly trained. On my paperwork I clearly stated it was Worker's Comp income, but I have no doubt they will mess it up and count it as income. I would like to see if someone knowledgeable from Medicaid can update my account so that I don't have to go through the appeals process; as I stated I had surgery about a month ago and still can't drive, so I don't need any problems right now with doctor's appointments getting cancelled due to having no insurance because of someone else's mistake. Right now I'm lucky enough to get a driver to take me to my appointments, but I don't think anyone will want to have to wait during an appeals hearing. Thank you. 174.107.166.114
