In your position, I know you recognize the importance of this achievement in this young man's life. To become an Eagle Scout, Andrew earned 37 merit badges and served his troop in a variety of leadership roles from Quartermaster to Senior Patrol Leader. He completed a three day Scouts Excited About Leadership Skills (SEALS) training camp where he learned about communication skills, interfaith worship services and planning effective meetings. For his Eagle service project, he helped to beautify the Veterans of Foreign Wars club in Roebuck, South Carolina. He planned and carried out the removal of overgrown foliage from beds around the perimeter of the building, smoothed the dirt, planted bulbs and mulched the beds. This helped the members of the VFW by eliminating hard to maintain trees and bushes. He also removed leaves, laid sod, and helped to plant bushes and flowers in other areas of the VFW property, in addition to helping to clear and rebuild the onsite shooting ranges. He completed this in addition to his normal Boy Scout activities such as campouts, meetings and summer camp requirements. Andrew is currently in the eighth grade at Rainbow Lake Middle School in Spartanburg, SC and is 14 years old. To enhance the ceremony, we are compiling letters of congratulation from people like you. Would you please consider sending along such a letter, plus any other items you wish to have presented to him? Please send your letter to the above address by May 7, 2016. We will have the letters and awards on display at his ceremony. Thank you so much for taking the time to honor this special young man. Sincerely, William A. Hospodar Assistant Scoutmaster and Advancement Chairman Troop 211, BSA
