I have been retired since 1989 due to a job related injury to my left knee from the Dept. of Mental Health @ Craft Farrow ( 28 years ) . My retirement check is $744.46 before deductions and my Social Security check is $1,44.50 before deductions , it's very hard for me take care of my personal needs . I don't want a handout, but people needs to understand the concept of what a person goes through on a daily basis just to survive. I now live in an apartment ( $730.00 per month/ water included)  I I pay utilities , buy my medications and food as well pay insurance ( car, health, dental,eyecare and rental ) sometimes extra cost if I get sick . I did apply for Snap benefits and was approved, but I later found out I was ineligible because they didn't include one of my checks, so now I'm having to repay them back .
