Dear Mr. Goff:
The S.C. Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division updated L.E. Directive 315 in May of 2014 to address tattoos. The policy was written to apply to officers within the law enforcement division
of this agency. The policy was written in conjunction with our Human Resources Section and our Legal Office.
The department believes it is important that officers present a neat professional appearance appropriate to the responsibilities of the job, and the only way to address this was to make the policy apply to everyone
not already grandfathered.
If you have any further questions do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Captain Mike Sabaka
Director of Legislative Services
