In 2009, I decided that I would have to do something different because I was unsuccessful in getting hired and out of money! So, I went back to college to turn my Associates Degree into a Bachelors Degree in an effort to remake myself and change my career path. I entered a Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems program at a local faith-based University and found a part time job for less than half of my previous rate of pay working as an Information Specialist at a Christian Radio Station. Late in 2010, the Radio Station closed all 200 locally operated stations across the U.S. due to a lack of donations and a poor economy. I did graduate with a Bachelors degree in Computer Information Systems BSCIS in May of 2012 and renewed my search for employment. I had a handful of interviews during that first year for IT positions in which I was a perfect fit. I was interviewed by IT Directors, Network Administrator and other IT managers who were much younger than I and from a foreign land such as India. These interviewers spoke very poor English and many times during these interviews, I was forced to ask the interviewer to repeat the question so that I could understand it and provide a better response, but I believe that killed my opportunity to get hired. Four years later, I am still searching for gainful employment and deeply disappointed with the fact that American companies are bringing foreign workers to the U.S. on the H1-B visa program to take jobs that I could be working at and hiring illegal immigrants. These practices must be stopped because they are detrimental to the economy for Americans who are born and raised in the U.S. like me. I am a 53 year old, Caucasian male born and raised in the U.S. What do you say?
