Dear Governor Haley,

I implore you to work to implement meaningful gun control laws in our state. The heartbreak in Charleston must compel us to action. Do not allow a loud, unruly few to prevent sane measures that the vast majority support. And please do what you can to convince our state legislators to take down that flag! It breaks my heart to see the American flag and South Carolina flag at half-mast and the Confederate flag fully raised. The Civil War ended 150 years ago. It is past time to take down the flag. 

May your work on gun control serve as a memorial to those who died so senselessly and hatefully.

South Carolina must act as one today.
