I am asking that you inquire with the Anderson County Sheriff's department and ask them why nothing has been done to stop so many vehicles being broken into and cars being vandalized at the Smith Mcgee boat ramp below the Hartwell Damn. I have had my vehicle broken into one time before and the officers response was don't leave anything in your vehicle worth stealing. I started leaving my windows down and did not leave anything in my truck and that worked for a while. On Saturday 9-10-16 I parked my truck at the ramp after putting my boat in the water and went bow hunting and when I returned my tires had been slashed on my trailer and one of my truck tires had been slashed. I called the Anderson county law enforcement and they said it would be a while before an officer would be out there or it would probably be quicker to leave a message with the desk officer so I left a message and no one ever called me back. It seems that some one is always being broken into or some form of vandalism happens but no one seems to care in Anderson county. I understand that budgets are tight but a surveillance camera can't cost that much money and it seems it would make it easy to catch whom ever is responsible. Another thing that would help would be to cut down the vegetation around the parking area that would allow it to be seen from the highway. I know that you are a busy women and I thank you for the job that you are doing and I would appreciate it if you would please look into how many break inn's that have happened but how little has been done to help. Thank you again for your time . Clinton Patterson.
