Box 19906 Greensboro NC 27419 bill@storkstuff.com GOVE Confederate flag I understand the urge to jump on the political bandwagon and score points. 3 points I want to make. 1) The confederate battle flag was the flag of the soldier. The citizen who came to the call of his state. 2) Hate groups hijacked this flag, those same groups also hide behind the american flag! 3) Can't there be a compromise? Allow the flag with monuments honoring the soldiers and historically significant sites. But also erect monuments honoring the men and women who endured, died and overcame the curse of slavery. Even a monument educating the public about the horrors of the practice. Sometimes it is important to stand and defend the hard things. One must be willing to defend the speech they hate the most in order to insure freedom for all. Eventually someone is going to want to ban something important to you... who will be left to defend it?
