Box 1636 Spartanburg SC 29304 asmith@spartanburgchamber.com 8645945010 COMM Haley Infrastructure Plan To Whom It May Concern: The Governor attended our Rotary meeting this afternoon (Downtown Spartanburg). I praised her for her ongoing commitment to economic development and complemented her plan to reduce income taxes and fund infrastructure. However, I asked about some of the figures: +3.5 billion in a 10 cent gas tax increase (over 10 years) -5.6 billion in a reduction of the income tax from 7% to 5% (over 10 years) NET: (2.1 billion)- over 10 years She said my math was incorrect and explained how her plan reconciles over the next 10 years. After the meeting, I asked her for additional information, and she said to contact her office. The business community has been weak in supporting a "comprehensive approach" and not united around one single solution. Armed with accurate data, I'd explore the possibility of asking our leadership to support the Governor's plan. I appreciate your attention to these issues. I look forward to your response. Allen
