Pasture and Range Risk Management Meeting to be held
SPARTAN BURG---The Agricultural Risk Protection Act of 2000 outlined as a top priority the implementation of a pilot project for a pasture and range risk management program. USDA's Risk Management Agency (RMA) was required to create a risk management program for pasture and rangeland. During the fall last year listening sessions were held throughout the United States to gather information on the perils and risk management needs of pasture and rangeland producers.
Using the input gathered from these sessions, AgriLogic has come up with risk management concepts for covering forage loss. The researchers at RMA and AgriLogic believe it is imperative to gather more input from producers on these proposed program concepts, so that they can be designed specifically for the needs of producers of pastures and rangeland.
This is your opportunity to let your voice be heard, and outcomes of this project may result in government programs designed to help producers in times of need.
The next meeting will be held on March 25 at 10 a.m. at the Spartanburg
County Public Library in Spartanburg. A meal will be provided. For more
