Dear Governor Haley, I just want to contact you about something very important to myself and apparently a lot of other citizens of Oconee County someone in the state road department has taken it upon themselves to design and install a traffic circle in the middle of nowhere in Oconee County at the intersections of Wells Highway and Strawberry Farm Road. I have lived here a long time and this is without a doubt one of the most ludicrous projects I have ever seen the road department ever do in this area. First of all both roads are two lane roads there's not a whole lot of traffic on them and now instead of having to look to the left at the stop sign you will have to look left and right to make sure that no one is coming in either direction and I will guarantee that before the traffic circle is complete or shortly thereafter was there will be a major accident. People in this part of the country are not accustomed to traffic circles or roundabouts as they are called in Europe. If it was London, Paris or Rome, yes I can see a traffic circle and they serve their purpose very very well. The most irritating thing is of the hundreds of thousands of dollars that they are spending on this idiotic project why can't that money be spent on the roads approaching where it would be because within a mile in any direction of where this intersection is the roads are absolutely falling apart breaks in the pavement, potholes and pavement that is nonexistent. This whole thing is absolutely absurd. Also since i started this I understand that a similar traffic circle has been constructed in Pickens County near Liberty and it is causing all manner of grief to the locals. I thank you for reading this and I would like to hear a return comment.
