I am 19 years old and a sophomore at the University of South Carolina. My family and I was recently told that I would no longer be eligible for medicaid as of December 1, 2015 and I would have to find a new healthcare provider. I have two younger brothers and my family does not make a lot of money. We were under the impression that I would still be eligible for medicaid as long as I was enrolled in school but we were told that policy was just changed. I find it ridiculous that the South Carolina government expects college students to pay for an expensive health insurance policy on top of college tuition and many other bills. As you can imagine college tuition is not cheap and adding this extra expense puts a burden on myself and my family. I am working part time and have other financial obligations such as car insurance, gas, phone bills among other things. I feel that there should be something done about this to help alleviate the stress and financial burden that many families like mine are experiencing. I appreciate you listening to me and I trust that you will take my issue seriously. Thank you for your time, Aubrey Thompson
