I am in a boil water area but I have an irrigation well that could be used for drinking water if I could test the water. The pat answer for well in the boil water area are simply do not drink the water. If our private well was not near any flood water we should be given a test kit to see if the water can be safely used without boiling the water in Columbia. There are kits available through government agencies or the military. If private residences could use their well water in Columbia it would lessen the burden on the city, county, and the state. All we need is a place where we could pick up a water testing kit or where we could bring a sample of our well water. The self test kits would take far less employee time and would be ultimately the cheapest method to test the water. Please respond if you can.
