I am E-mailing you today as well to respectfully request that you expand Medicaid. Because of a lack of income, many residents of South Carolina have been unable to obtain health insurance even under the Affordable Care Act. The original intent of this law was that each state would expand Medicaid to cover such persons, and that the cost would be partially borne by the Federal Government. However, as you know, South Carolina is one of several states in which this did not occur once the US Supreme Court had ruled that this could be not be mandated. It is time, past time, to correct this problem here in South Carolina. Sincerely and Respectfully, Fr. Gregory Ned Blevins
