Loris DMV employee charged with illegally issuing licenses

COLUMBIA, S.C. - An Horry County Department of Motor Vehicles worker has been charged with illegally issuing driver's licenses to people who did not have the right documents.

Cathlean C. Legare, 43, of Loris, was arrested by state agents Monday afternoon.

On at least 10 occasions, Legare issued licenses to people who did not have the proper documents or were not entitled to get the licenses, according to the State Law Enforcement Division.

Legare has been charged with misconduct in office, unlawful issuance of driver's licenses and conspiracy, SLED said.
