State officials should condemn their destructive practices and decommission them altogether in favor of modernized sewage treatment facilities. My husband Roy and I have been dealing with Carolina Water since 6-1-11. This company charges exorbitant rates, they are repeat offenders of environmental regulations, and they continue to pollute the beautiful Saluda River. The Saluda is one of the most popular attractions in the Midlands of SC for recreational activities, and it has potential for a greater role. We feel that we are at the mercy of Carolina Water. Why would a company based in Chicago have so much control over the people of SC? Why can't we replace Carolina Water with local water service and sewage treatment facilities?
