Lee Bright. This sort of thinking is narrow-minded, backward and hateful. Transgender individuals need to be allowed to feel safe in public. This bill would compromise their safety and teach our children that it's okay to label people in ways that create hate and misunderstanding. If we are to ever have a chance of stopping the hate that exists between races, classes and sexual orientation, we need to take a stand to not allow this sort of regulation to even be considered. We have so many more important issues that need to be addressed - like the fact that people are dying every day in motor vehicle accidents - due in part to using smart phones while driving and the horrible road conditions in our area. If anything needs to be regulated, it's the use of cell phones for texting and talking while driving. We need leaders who aren't afraid to take a stand and speak for all constituents and to err on the side of common sense when it comes to human rights. I urge you to refuse to support this bill and to speak out against it. Sincerely, Diana Strinsky Taylors, SC
