SC Drought Response Committee conference call on Sept. 27
The S.C. Department of Natural Resources will conduct a South Carolina Drought Response Committee conference call on Thursday, Sept. 27, at 10 a.m. The purpose of the drought conference call is to evaluate the drought status statewide. The committee will review climatic data, streamflow and lake level data, and drought impacts.
The drought status for all counties was maintained except Barnwell County which was upgraded to a Severe drought designation on July 19. Abbeville, McCormick, Edgefield and Aiken in the Savannah River Basin remain at severe. Oconee, Pickens, Anderson, Saluda, Greenwood, Greenville, Newberry, Laurens, and Lexington counties remain at moderate. All other counties in the state remain at the incipient level of drought.
