Dear Governor,

I lived in Spartanburg, SC for 10-15 years of my life and I loved it. It is unfortunate that the state that reminds me the most of where I live now, Texas, is beginning to turn into a state too afraid to stand up for what they believe.

It saddens me to see you caving to the status quo, versus having some "literal" balls and being tough with your beliefs that got you elected and the beliefs of the same state you govern.

The Confederate flag is not a bad flag, nor is it a racist flag. There is significant history behind it and instead of caving to those who are ignorant about it's meaning, maybe you should do some digger reading about history. 

I hope to continue to fly it high for many years to come, whether you and others try to quell the history that our nation is built on and what made us great.
