I noticed yesterday as an ice cream truck came through my= neighborhood, that people with food stamps/snap/ebt can buy ice cream from= the trucks using those benefits. I completely disagree with this. They eve= n advertise with a sign on the truck. I remember hearing about some food st= amp program reform but I haven't heats anything else. I honestly think that= these type programs are a huge problem. I have also been told by friends t= hat one can use ebt at the meat trucks that drive around as well. I am a re= gistered voter, faithful republican and actively employed and buy everythin= g I have with my own money. I have a problem with my tax money being used f= or welfare recipients that abuse the system. None of these programs offered= were meant for long term but they have become many people's way of life. I= t is very wrong for our state to have to keep giving to these people who do= n't take initiative and get up and go get a job to take care of themselves. All that being said, I hope that the food stamp program can be reformed and= new restrictions can be put in place to regulate what people can buy. It i= s not a nutritional necessity for people to be able to buy ice cream, candy= , sodas, lobsters and many other foods that currently are allowed.
