If someone could please explain to me why it so bloody difficult, costly and time consuming to get a divorce in SC I would really appreciate it.Why are we 1 of the 7 states to adopt a ridiculous policy like UDRA?We are in a small group of 7 states that make it more difficult to get a divorce.Well for all those bleeding heart people out there who look at everything through rose colored glasses here is a news flash:sometimes people just do not want to stay together anymore.They find it increasingly more difficult to live in the same home together but cannot afford to actually get a divorce in a state like SC that requires 1 year living apart and huge amounts of money paid to lawyers and the court system.And what is this all for?The state assumes people want to stay married when in fact they are forcing them to stay in an emotionally toxic environment because they cannot afford another option following SC rules.Our state gov. should be ashamed for forcing people to stay together for no reason whatsoever other than money they cannot afford to spend on a divorce.And enacting a regulation like the UDRA act is not only selfish but a great disservice to people of our state who are not so stupid to realize they need to get out of a bad marriage.The last time I checked people do not look into divorce because they have a good marriage.Is SC ever going to join the rest of the world and realize they have no right to tell people how they are supposed to live their lives and forcing them to stay in a bad situation.Great job protecting the people of our state forcing them to stay with someone they no longer love and in a bad home life because they cannot afford  to get out under SC law.So no, it is not a great day to live in an outdated, backwoods state like SC.What the hell is wrong with you people?
