University Blvd. Denver CO 80209 e-kirchhoff@hotmail.com 3146042078 3146042078 JOBS End Economic Injustice in South Carolina 50.134.199.117 I am writing out of deep concern about some pressing issues in your jurisdiction, especially within communities of color. For example, according to recent US Census reports, while African-Americans constitute 27.8% of South Carolina's population, the level of poverty in African-American communities is more than 25%. Furthermore, while Native Americans and Latinos comprise 0.5% and 5.4% of the state's population, respectively, the level of poverty in both these communities is also more than 25%. Comparing these statistics with the fact that the poverty level in white communities is less than 14%, it is clear that there are unacceptable disparities between ethnic groups in your jurisdiction. It is well-known that many more disparities exist in terms of economics, health, politics, and education. Simply put, I am writing to tell you that this is absolutely intolerable, that it is an embarrassment, and to demand immediate and appropriate action to alleviate these human rights violations. If you are not prepared to resolve these issues, I will continue to protest against these injustices. Thank you. Sincerely, Elizabeth Kirchhoff
