I wanted to tell you about our unemployment system in South Carolina, I was laid off in August and started drawing unemployment but I decided to go back to school while looking for a job. This last Wednesday I got a notice a day before my REA interview at the unemployment office and tried to reschedule due to having a test that day and was going to come in later in the day, since I am school and cant work the hours I use to work with Annas Linens I now have to file an appeal because they canceled my benefits even though I am looking for work and can work. The lady even asked me if i would be willing to quit school if it interferes in me getting a job. I just dont think this is fair, I am going to school to better myself and get a good job so why would I be told to give that up and now my benefits are gone because of that?
