I get the history and understand how people feel it is just time. I lived in Columbia 98-04, owned a home in St. Andrews. As a white lady, when I moved there and eventually went down Gervais street I nearly fell over. I called all my friends and said "You won't believe this, the confederate flag is flying above the SC Capitol." Later it moved down to Gervais/Main I laughed saying you REALLY can't miss it now. I will retire next year and Conway is on my short list of places to live. Get that flag off the evening news it does no good for SC. A Confederate Museum using private funds could solve the problem, surely the good people of SC deserve a break.
