I can't imagine what you deal with on a daily basis and I am sure you are very busy, but I do want to share my story regarding the beginnings of the foster system. My husband and I started the process in May and it is now October, which I was told "it takes 5 months to be approved" so I did not expect to start helping children yet, only hoping. We have not helped the first child. We have had our fingerprints taken, background checks completed, and attended classes. We turned in paycheck stubs and signed applications. Now we have to turn in more pay check stubs and sign new applications because the others expired. Though we are not deterred from this replication, there are sure to be some that are. I am just wondering if there are areas that could be fixed. I feel like many areas of the system are broken and we are responsible to fix them. I personally would like to work on the system. What are your thoughts? Sorry if I am being to forward, but I think the children are important and you agree. So if you have any suggestions on what I can do as an individual or that I can work on in the community, please advise.
