No matter where you go just about everyone is talking about
Hurricane Frances. Will the storm directly impact us? Right
now there is no clear answer. But as with any approaching
storm it's always best to prepare. Around the clock
forecasters keep an eye on Hurricane Frances.
Mike Emlaw, with the National Weather Service says, "the
question for everybody in the South Eastern U-S is what
happens between now and the next three or four days."
Forecasters are hoping Tropical Storm Gaston was a wake up
call. Emlawy says, "I am hoping that with Gaston that people
now have been brought back to reality I think with Charlie and
Bonnie they got into a false sense of security that these
things are not a big deal."
Forecaster are not the only ones keeping an eye on Frances,
locals are also staying alert. Audrey Parker of North
Charleston says, "I have not started buying water yet, I have
not been to the grocery store yet to get all the supplies but
if gets any closer I probably will..
Ben wooten of North Charleston says, "I have been living
here for 44 years and everyone that has hit charleston starts
with an F, G or H, G, is already gone, H is out in the middle
of the North Atlantic and here comes the F.."
Frances will soon deliver its fury just where is still
being predicted, until it does a word of advice. Emlaw says,
"prepare for the worst and hope for the best and that is what
we are doing and that is what everybody in the Lowcountry
should be doing with this storm because this thing could cause
us lots of problems."
Forecaster say Hurricane Frances should not be taken
lightly. They say if you don't have an evacuation plan you
should get one. Meteorologist says we're not even half way
through Hurricane Season and already this month South Carolina
has been hit by four storms.
