First lady Laura Bush will attend a private fund-raiser next month in Florence, Bush-Cheney campaign officials said Thursday.

Laura Bush will be at a private residence at noon Sept. 4, campaign spokeswoman Tracy Schmitt said.

The fund-raising event will cost $1,000 per person.

"We're excited the first lady is coming to South Carolina for a visit," said state Republican Party chairman Katon Dawson. "The fund-raiser will benefit the Bush-Cheney campaign and South Carolina is excited to be part of that."
