Calling out Candidate Trump was a brave step, especially for a Republican, but it simply has to be done by anyone who seeks an end to the destructively polarized climate that has brought government to a standstill in our country. It is deeply troubling to me that his supporters, who undoubtedly think of themselves as patriots, fail to realize the extent to which his words and proposals are inimical to fundamental American values. Perhaps hearing it from a respected conservative like you will begin to open their eyes. Thank you for doing what you've done and saying what you've said on these two points; please stay the course, no matter the backlash. It is the right thing to do. Warm wishes to you for 2016. Gary Newell Reston, VA
