Dear Governor Haley and staff,

My family and I were recently in South Carolina for vacation during the historic rain.  We got to Conway, SC on Sunday, October 4 and ended up stranded on US501 because of road closures.  We found the number to emergency management, and they were FABULOUS.  Obviously being from out of town we didn't know roads or our way around and this department went above and beyond to get us safely to the beach.  They were courteous, patient, and very concerned for us especially once they found out we were travelling with a toddler.  I'm sure you have received many criticisms for the way things have been handled during this event so I wanted to take a minute to give this department a pat on the back, they were amazing.  

We finally made it to Myrtle Beach on Monday, October 5 and as always had a terrific vacation.  Myrtle Beach is a favorite location of ours and we will return next fall, and as always the locals were warm, friendly and inviting.
