I am a 3rd grade teacher at Brennen Elementary. We have been studying SC history & branches of the govt. Our students LOVED learning about Gov. Hailey, especially that she was our 1st female SC governor. They couldn't believe it took so long! What struck me as a teacher however, was that even though we go to school right down from the state house the children think of govt & Gov. Hailey as some far off concept. Guys we are mere blocks from Gov. Hailey!! Is there ANY possibility Gov. Hailey could spend a few moments talking to our youth about her job & SC? Even 15 minutes? We need more girls involved in our govt! Come on, please, Gov. Hailey?? It's women's history month after all (: Thanks! Betsy Mitchell
