Gov. Mark Sanford will meet individually Wednesday with any citizen who wants to spend five minutes with the governor. Those interested will have to make an appointment and travel to the Statehouse in Columbia. Sanford will meet with citizens from 4 to 9 p.m.

The meetings are limited to five minutes, officials said, unless fewer people show up, in which case the meetings could be lengthened.

Appointments can be made by calling the governor's office at 803-734-2100 or by visiting the office from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Those wishing to talk to the governor must also present a social security number and a valid photo identification.

Sanford promised the "Open Door After 4" sessions in his State of the State speech as a way of listening directly to constituents.
