Hello Katie,

Please share with the governor that while I would love to continue in this capacity, I just found out that I’ve been diagnosed with some sort of lymphoma. My family and I were on a year-long trip seeing our beautiful country (I was going to call in for commission meetings along the way!)

But we have had to change our plans, at least for now. Because of this, I will be unable to fulfill commission duties, at least for the next year. Should a seat open up in a year or two, please let me know. Barring any other unforeseen circumstances, I would love to rejoin at some point.

Please express to the governor that I hope this doesn’t put her and the commission in a bind. I have let Mr. Calloway know what has transpired. Please let her know I have so enjoyed my time with the State Museum – it is a wonderful institution and very worthy of our time and funds.
