(Camden) - They ranged from young, to old,
to somewhere in between. Their emotions, likewise different across
the board.
These men were in line for a part in a major film
production.
“A lot of them have a very strong chance of
getting in,” said Casting Director Tona Dahlquist. “I would say 75%,
60-75%."
For some, this process is old hat.
Said Ron
Custer, “I just finished a film with Colin Farrell, Christopher
Plummer; ‘The New World,’ which will be out in November."
But
for others, like Brian Baker, it's his first chance at something
he's always wanted to do. And he's willing to skip his day job to
make it happen.
“You only live once,” said Baker. “You make
decisions, and sometimes those decisions make you."
As for
the woman who would cast him, Tona Dahlquist isn't asking very much.
Only that her extras look like they could be from the
1950's.
“This movie happens to be in 1957,” said Dahlquist,
“so piercings, bleached hair, and certain hair-dos just aren't going
to work."
It’s a small price to pay ... for your first part
in a major film.
The men who are cast will be used over two
or three days next week. They'll be featured primarily as extras in
the film, which is called "Walker." |
