Something in our insurance with the demographic rating in Gaston County would reduce our costs. Anyway, after a long search to move to a new or used facility in Gaston County we just couldn't find what we needed. We decided to continue to stay in our facility in Clover and rent from the current owner of the building. Well, guess what, after we decided that we received news that the property taxes will be raised another $5,500, that will put our property taxes at about $41,500 per year. This caused our lease to go up before we signed a longer term lease with the new owner of the building. In saying all of the above, is there anything that the Governor can do to help with this? I have been discussing these issues with Meredith Cleveland, he works with the Department of Revenue in SC, he mentioned the following: 1-Appealing the new assessment, 2- "Special Source Revenue Bonds", 3-Contacting the EDC. I basically told him that PART Inc will not survive the continued property tax hikes, corporate tax hikes, insurance regulated hikes, energy hikes and many other costs it takes to run a business. In 5-10 years we will fizzle out as a company and will no longer be competitive in our industry. Think about all of the above items, it is all government related. I have written the whole general assembly, the governor, called representatives, etc...and explained to them that the continued rise in government spending and expansion of government companies will lose all liquidity. PS-We are not in dire need at the moment but we can't sustain our business long term.
