As a long time resident of Myrtle Beach SC, it has become quite apparent that tourism is one of the state's greatest sources of income. More so for the beach towns in this state, the jobs provided to the residents due to tourism is great. It has come to my attention that there is the possibility of offshore drilling to occur off of the coastline of South Carolina. For someone who spends every single day at the beach, this is a terrifying thought. No matter how low the possibility of an accident is, it is extremely possible with a few examples being the BP Oil Spill of 2010 and the Exxon Oil Spill of 1989. I have dedicated my entire future to save this planet's oceans, and the thought of having to witness oil on my beaches, or of having to try and save millions of sea animals yet still witness them all die is appalling. Not only will it be devastating to the ocean and beaches, but also the tourism industry as well as the fishing industry. I beg of you, to aid in the fight to prevent this from happening to the clean, beautiful and plentiful state of South Carolina.
