Rep. John Graham Altman, R-Charleston, was issuing warnings Wednesday about House Democratic leader Harry Ott, after it was reported that Democrats wanted equal time to House Speaker David Wilkins on an ETV program featuring a news conference with the speaker.

Altman called the Calhoun lawmaker Harry “Generator” Ott. “He’s always shocked, shocked” at what’s going on in the State House.

Altman was so tickled with his joke that he walked over to Ott to share it with him.

“Harry ‘Shocked’ Ott,” Altman said, pretending to introduce him to a reporter. “Shake hands with him and your hair stands up.”
