I could have gotten on a set of forums related to Mr. Dylann Roof's misdeeds, talked of this aspect of Confederate history and legacy, that those who fought under the Stars and Bars have descendants who fought in the Spanish American War, in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, the Balkans, any number of UN missions, against the IS, etc. Instead I'm coming to the great Governor Nikki Haley's site to say that  my mom is against the Death Penalty. My church is not for it. I was reading from the Catholic Faith and Family Bible the passage from Deuteronomy 30: 15 to 20, the part about choosing life so you and your families may live. The commentary speaks against capital punishment although the OT wanted it. For that matter, the modern state of Israel doesn't perform capital punishment except as it pertained to Mr. Eichmann, a German Nazi.

I say Mr. Dylann Roof deserves every second of it, even if he doesn't meet his maker for 20 years due to excessive appeals, etc. The idea of being opposed to cruel and unusual punishment is not a suicide pact with the devil. Anyway, many will disagree with me. That is fine. My mom, as conservative as it gets, doesn't believe the way I do re: this case and his just desserts. 


That is fine, legal, constitutional, and American as cherry pie.
