I know there are tons of us and we bog down the system but is anyone trying to fix the problems? Are there any quality assessment teams going around and looking at ways to stream line processes? Did you know there are doctors at the VA threatening patients to lose weight or lose your pain medication? ( no not me someone else) I am fortunate I have a retired military spouse so I went on base and asked my primary care doctor to send me to civilian doctors. I would rather pay co pays and anything else than go see my VA doctor for free. It took my civilian doctor 4 months to do something the VA doctors couldn't do in 7 years. It took the VA doctors almost 6 years to diagnose a basal cell carcinoma on my shoulder the size of a silver dollar. The VA healthcare system is broken and real people are being hurt because of it and I would like to know what you are doing about it? Are there any inspection groups going in and taking surveys? Are we holding people responsible for their actions? I know the respiratory department had a bad reputation for being lazy. That comes from poor management. What is being done?
