Charleston SC 29414 seanrobertthornton@gmail.com 8432182577 ETHI Income Disclosure Form Constituent Request Dear Governor Haley, I am taking part in the re-launch of the SC Policy Council's initiative to encourage lawmakers to voluntarily disclose their private sources of income. The project, which began in 2013, successfully encouraged 40 members of the General Assembly and four Constitutional Officers to voluntarily disclose their income. The idea of "Project Conflict Watch" is based on the principle that citizens have a right to know who is paying their elected officials. South Carolina remains the only state in the nation that requires its state elected officials to disclose nothing about their private income. But here is something to consider: You don't have to pass a law in order to abide by the principle. That is why I am asking you to take part in this initiative with me. Please fill out the form here (http://www.scpolicycouncil.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/FinalPCWPartIIFormPDF.pdf) and e-mail it to me - the Policy Council is compiling all of the information and I will make sure it gets to them. If you have any questions about the project itself, you can find more information at the Policy Council's webpage (http://scpolicycouncil.org/conflict-watch). Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I appreciate your consideration and look forward to your response very soon. Sincerely yours, Sean Thornton
