As I understand it, the "Confederate Flag" which in historically correct terms is the battle flag of the Army of Northern Virginia flies over a Confederate memorial on state grounds. You have called to take it down for obvious reasons. But what will be its replacement? I suggest you get a historian in and do some research on the actual flags that the militias of South Carolina flew during the "Civil War". Replace the so called "confederate flag" with one of these. My personal choice would be the "Orr's rifles" flag, but get with a historian for other choices. If you do this I think you will look mighty wise. The blacks will get what they want and Southern Pride people will not be totally run roughshod over by the politically correct, and thus thrown a bone. Plus the men who fought for South Carolina will be correctly honored by one of their own flags not tainted by the racism of the 1950's and 1960's. I think that is called a "win-win". Good luck to you!
