Military retirees have paid their dues to South Carolina and this country. It's way beyond time that South Carolina and this nation begins to pay back the debt they owe to military retirees; many of whom are struggling economically because of their decision to serve this nation when this nation needed them the most! A step in the right direction is to remove the pay of all military retirees from taxation in South Carolina and in fact remove from federal taxes as well! I urge you to continue to move forward with this initiative! In fact, my hope is that your initiative will gain the support of other states and the federal government...the men and women military retirees deserve no less! Please let me know how I might help you work on this initiative! Very respectfully, COL Lonnie Stith, Esq, US Army (Ret)
