Duffy Elizabeth Duffy is a native of South Carolina and is retiring after 30 years with the Internal Revenue Service in South Carolina. Agent Duffy spent the first 10 years of her career as a Revenue Agent and the final 20 years as a Criminal Investigator. During her storied career she worked pationately on all types of cases to include tax, OCDETF (drug cases), food stamp fruad, medicare fraud, embezzlement, and others. Special Agent Duffy worked on the case that led to the largest seizure of cociane in the history of South Carolina on June 18, 1998 (3086.7 pounds) from the Wando-Welsh Terminal in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Agent Duffy's most recent accomplishment was the conviction of two brothers who stole in excessof 8.5 million dollars from Medicare based on false billings. These individuals were both convicted at trial and are serving lengthy prison sentences. Agent Duffy also, seized in excess of 2.5 million dollars in this case that has been returned to the medicaid program.
