So, governor Haley, is it the smell of roasting human flesh in the early morning hours that excites you and/or your staff? I was appalled that you let Mark Nix delete the essential fire safety standard regarding home sprinklers, as detailed in this morning Pro Publica article. AND that you canned the head of your fire safety board, Adolf Zubia in retaliation for working with the other members of the board to develop the common sense requirement that new homes have sprinklers.

Underwriters Lab has found that the time it takes for a home fire to move to 'flash-over' has decreased from 17 minutes to 4 minutes - and that's not enough time to get your family out of the house. At least it wouldn't be for me, coming out of a dead sleep.

The quote -Haley's spokeswoman, Chaney Adams, said that the governor doesn't back mandatory sprinklers because she wants "South Carolina families to decide what works best in their homes" - is enough to make a thinking person lose their lunch. What choice? Chaney have ANY idea how much retrofitting a home costs? No, of course not. Just developers' boot lickers' clap trap.

Well, when you read about burned bodies being carried out of homes, bodies that might be alive, you can thank your own ethics and Mark Nix.
