SCDA hosts 4 spring plant and flower festivals

COLUMBIA---Mary Ridgeway, SC Department of Agriculture Marketing Specialist, invites the public to "start spring the right way!" "Attend the Department’s Spring Plant and Flower festivals," she adds. "We are hosting four festivals around the state, so there will be plenty of opportunities for everyone to stop and shop for spring gardening needs."

The wide range of vendors will have some of the best plants at great prices. They will also have water plants, landscape woody materials, herbs, vegetables, perennials, and plants full of color to instantly beautify gardens. In addition to plant materials, yard art, outdoor furniture, fish ponds and exotic fish, garden sprinklers, decorative planters and much more will be available.

Mary invites veteran and novice gardeners to bring the entire family to enjoy the sunshine and fun. She says to come, have lunch, and spend the day. The master gardeners will be on-site to help with gardening questions.

The festivals are free and so is the parking.

The Southern Plant and Flower Festival will be held on April 4-7, 2002, at the Pee Dee State Farmers Market, 2513 West Lucas Street, Florence, SC.
