The GOP claims to want to open the tent and bring in all peoples to the party. What I have seen is many non GOP voters, including Dems, Independents, previous non voters, and especially minorities being energized and brought in collation with the GOP. Though this lose coalition may be fragile, it is real, and there are two main reasons: 1) Looking for new leadership and a change in Washington, and the lack of respect and accountability to the voters, and 2) Trump bring great energy and openly discussing the taboo topics of both parties, exposing the dirty little secrets of GOP and Dem collaboration behind the scenes. Trump has truly opened the Tent and brought together possibly the greatest coalition of voters since Ronald Reagan. Unfortunately, your rebuttal speech did not help the GOP and may hurt Senatorial and House of Reps in their re-elections. You came out against Trump, which was totally inappropriate for a fellow GOP contender for the nomination. Even worse, she showed you have become a total GOP Establishment Politician, acting in concert with the GOP establishment and big donors. Many of us, who supported your campaign in 2010 based on your claim to be a founded in conservative values and policies, even to go as far as to identify with the Tea Party, are very disappointed in your position. You have become what the state of South Carolina did not want. I as many others will be putting money into the coffers of your opponents, primary and general election. Your stance on immigration subtle goes against the people, the law allows our government to refuse immigration by race and religion and we have done so in the past, in the early 1900's and even during FDR's time. As these jabs at Trump were made, you clearly do not understand the American People or are just part of the establishment: There's an important lesson in this. In many parts of society today, whether in popular culture, academia, the media, or politics, there's a tendency to falsely equate noise with results. "Some people think that you have to be the loudest voice in the room to make a difference. That is just not true. Often, the best thing we can do is turn down the volume. When the sound is quieter, you can actually hear what someone else is saying. And that can make a world of difference." ----Nikki Hailey The rest of the speech is cooker cutter GOP language. I hope you will coalesce under Trump if he should be the GOP nominee, and vigorously campaign for his election as President In addition, I was disappointed in your statements on the NBC morning show which was disgraceful for you to do to a fellow GOP Presidential Candidate and huge insult to the American Voters. Let me summarize by saying you are appearing more as a rino not a conservative GOP Governor. This will likely end your future in elected office and only opportunity will be as a Presidential appointment if a rino were to get in. Sometime the truth, as harsh as it may seem, is the best medicine, right?
