Gov Haley,

Obviously you have never visited the campus (only 10's on of miles from your office).  Please take 1 day out of your (busy) schedule and visit the campus (talk to students) and you will not support the racially and/or politically motivated people who are recommending closure of the campus and re-opening in 1 year.  What an idiotic statement to make.  If anyone who new about education (I do), business (I do), and logistics ( do)  can tell you,there is no savings in doing this.  

There is no way out of a 1 year shutdonwn:
* Declare bankruptcy (no-way):  Okay assets (land, buildings) are valuable to provide some ROI but that means the university is gone forever.
* Logistics of shutdown and restart of a business this size will probably be more costly than leaving it running from the beginning. Did they perform an analysis before this recommendation??  I say not.

Let me offer some thoughts for a caring governor:  Visit the campus (talk to students) without an announcement, ask some business students (some marketing students) to put together a 10 year business plan in 30 days -  Objective : How to make the university profitable in 10 years.  Get the Superintendent of Education to work with the students to support the plan (the staff will have to be involved to get them what they need).

This is not only showing you care but provide leadership and education to the state.

Please staff member (that's reading this, show this to the governor.
