S.C. Law Gives Incentives to
Movie Companies |
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (AP) - Governor Mark
Sanford has signed into law a bill giving movie and television
production companies more incentives for bringing casts and crews to
South Carolina.
The new law increases wage and sales tax
rebates for motion pictures, independent films and television series
that come to the state to film. The governor's office says the goal
is to make South Carolina more competitive in landing such
projects.
Filmmaker Matt Williams shot "Wild Hearts Can't Be
Broken" in Orangeburg, Saint Matthews and Myrtle Beach in 1991 and
is filming a new movie in Chester and York counties.
Williams
says South Carolina is a great place to make a film. |
