Governor Haley,
I would first and foremost like to thank you for the
wonderful work you do day in and day out to make your state a better place
to live. I would also like to thank you in advance for your assistance on
the project I am working on for my daughter that I have detailed
below.
My name is Abigail Rothberger and I live in Passaic, NJ with my
husband and four children. My eldest daughter, Kira, will be turning
twelve later this spring. She is an exceptional individual. She had lots
of friends, helpful with her siblings and a star student. This year, she
was the winner of the National Geographic Geography Bee at her school, as
is awaiting notice of qualification in New Jersey State Bee. In addition,
she is studying for the "Chidon HaTanch," the International Bible
contest.
In Jewish tradition, age twelve is considered the "coming of
age" or commonly known as Bat Mitzvah for girls (age thirteen, Bar Mitzvah
for boys). We will be celebrating Kira's milestone with a meaningful
party. Because of her thirst for knowledge and love of history and
geography, I am writing to you (and the governors of all 50 States) with a
request. I would love to have a note from you congratulating her on this
momentous day and if possible include some interesting facts or history
about your state. I would like to surprise her with a compilation from as
many states as possible on her Bat Mitzvah day.
