I just wanted to email you to say I do not want to lose that, but suggest we replace the flag. I say why not replace the flag with a new flag. Something that would remember the Charleston incident, but also show the unity we have as a state of every color and race. The incident could have ended badly in Charleston with riots and violence, but it didn't. Instead it ended with a State coming together in prayer for the families. I say lets replace the Confederate Flag with a new flag which will recognize the day our State came together in unity and decided we want change. We want a State that is willing to look out for each other regardless of color. I think that would make a Statement to the rest of the country saying we may have a past of segregation, but we want to lead the country into the future of racial equality. God Bless, Thomas Sandifer Orangeburg Prep '12 Charleston Southern '16
